PSM Hosts Global Classroom on Counting and Probability Course

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) successfully hosted an engaging Global Classroom session on Counting and Probability, with a focus on The Normal Distribution, attracting 71 students specifically from Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

The session featured Dr. Anita Rahayu, S.Si., M.Si., Senior Lecturer from Bina Nusantara University (BINUS), Malang Campus, who shared her international expertise on statistical concepts and their practical applications. The session was facilitated by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Noryanti Muhammad from UMPSA’s Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

On 5 January 2026, UMPSA’s Centre for Mathematical Sciences hosted a Global Classroom session on "Statistical Modelling and Simulation: Introduction to Synthetic Data Generation." Featured speaker Prof. Dr. Aleta Caras Fabregas from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines shared her expertise in data-driven research and computing with participants via Microsoft Teams.

The Center for Mathematical Sciences (PSM) successfully organized a Teaching Plan Workshop on 21 November 2025 at the Hotel Grand Darul Makmur, Kuantan. This strategic initiative brought together 45 staff members, including 40 academic and 5 administrative personnel, to refine the curriculum for the Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours (BSD) and the Service Mathematics program.

Coordination Meeting on Research and Innovation Collaboration between the Malaysian Prison Department and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah

A coordination meeting was held on 8 December 2025 at the Malaysian Prison Department to discuss strategic directions and research collaboration priorities between the Department and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) for the 2026–2027 period. The meeting focused on aligning data-driven and evidence-based approaches to support the national correctional system, particularly in areas related to offender rehabilitation and the social reintegration of parolees.
