Two-Day Workshop on R Programming for Data Analysis

A two-day workshop titled “R Programming for Data Analysis” was successfully conducted on 17–18 September 2025, organised by the Postgraduate Association of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). The workshop was facilitated by Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Noryanti Muhammad and Associate Professor Dr. Roslinazairimah Zakaria from the Centre of Mathematical Sciences, who were honoured to serve as the speakers.

WORK BASED LEARNING (WBL) WORKSHOP WITH INDUSTRY COACHES FOR THE BACHELOR OF APPLIED SCIENCE IN DATA ANALYTICS WITH HONOURS, CENTRE FOR MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES, 2025

On 13 September 2025, a WBL workshop with Industry Coach has already been successfully conducted at Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur. The objective of this workshop is to hold a familiarization session between the Academic Tutor and the Industry Coach, to provide exposure and explanation of the Industry Coach's role in the WBL approach and to provide information and training to the Industry Coach regarding the evaluation procedure for the WBL course. This workshop was attended by 17 staff members of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, led by the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Sham Bin Mohamad.

Data Science Project I (BSD3722) Presentation Day

On 9–10 January 2025, 61 students from the Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours presented their Data Science Project I. Among them, 44 Work-Based Learning students worked with industry partners such as Cybersecurity Malaysia, Telekom Malaysia, and Prasarana to solve real-world challenges. Several projects show strong potential to be published as high-impact research papers.

Data Science Project II (BSD3734) Presentation Day

On 13th June 2025, there are 18 students from the programme of Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours who have successfully presented their Data Science Project II. All the presented projects are data-driven research projects and involve Data Science and Analytics cycle or skills. Their projects tackle real-world issues, utilizing data primarily sourced from open platforms.
