PSM UMPSA Organises SULAM Programme “The Power of Data Science” at SMK Abdul Rahman Talib

The Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), successfully organised a SULAM programme titled “The Power of Data Science” on 15 January 2026 at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Abdul Rahman Talib, Kuantan.

The programme was conducted under the course BSD1313 – Introduction to Data Science and led by Dr. Mohd Khairul Bazli bin Mohd Aziz as the Project Leader. The initiative received official approval from the Office of the Senior Director (Strategy & Academic Development) as part of UMPSA’s continuous commitment to service-learning and community engagement.

Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rashid bin Ab Hamid from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), a senior lecturer in applied statistics, conducted an International Community Engagement Programme at SMA Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung. The initiative was organised in conjunction with the 32nd Anniversary (Dies Natalis) of Universitas Malahayati, with the support of the Provincial Department of Education and Culture of Lampung, as part of the International Professors Summit 2026.

At the International Professors Summit 2026, one presentation stood out prominently—delivered by Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rashid bin Ab Hamid from Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). With the topic “Applications of Multiple Intelligences in the Teaching and Learning of Mathematics,” he captivated the audience with a fresh, student-centered vision for mathematics education.

PSM Hosts Global Classroom on Counting and Probability Course

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) successfully hosted an engaging Global Classroom session on Counting and Probability, with a focus on The Normal Distribution, attracting 71 students specifically from Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

The session featured Dr. Anita Rahayu, S.Si., M.Si., Senior Lecturer from Bina Nusantara University (BINUS), Malang Campus, who shared her international expertise on statistical concepts and their practical applications. The session was facilitated by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Noryanti Muhammad from UMPSA’s Centre for Mathematical Sciences.
