Data Analytics Industrial Talk BSD2343 Data Warehousing

On Friday, May 16th, 2025, the Centre for Mathematical Sciences UMPSA hosted a Data Analytics Industrial Talk. The talk, "Data Warehouse: On Prem VS Cloud," was delivered by Mr. Mohd Izhar Firdaus Ismail, Director of Data & AI, Abyres Enterprise Technologies Sdn Bhd.

This talk provided students with a valuable opportunity to observe the practical application of data management in the real world, specifically within the field of data analytics. Mr. Izhar discussed the differences between on-premises and cloud-based data warehouses and the critical role each plays in modern data infrastructure. He explained how various technologies and platforms are used to manage, store, and analyze large volumes of data efficiently, highlighting considerations such as cost, scalability, security, and performance in selecting an appropriate data warehousing solution.
