Training Session on Risk-Based Inspection (RBI): API 581 System Familiarisation at Mathematics Support Centre, UMPSA
On 6 May 2025, the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (CSM) had conducted a training session on Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) Based on API 581 System Familiarisation for the RBI team of Kemaman Bitumen Corporation (KBC) Sdn. Bhd. The training was held at the Mathematics Support Centre, UMPSA and was conducted by Associate Professor Dr. Norhayati Rosli and Mr. Mohd Khairul Hafiz Khairuldin. Also contributing are Associate Professor Dr. Noryanti Muhammad and Dr. Norhafizah Md. Sarif.
The KBC participants consist of four team members from various units within the RBI team. The training is to familiarise KBC team on the RBI system that has been developed by UMPSA. The training covers:
- Overview of Screening, Damage Factor (DF), Probability of Failure (PoF), Uncertainty Factors, Consequences of Failure (CoF) and Risk Matrix
- Internal Thinning Damage Factor and the factors that can affect the Internal Thinning Damage Factor.
- External Thinning Damage Factor.
- External Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) Damage Factor.
- External Chloride Stress Corrosion Cracking (CLSCC) Damage Factor.
- External CUI-CLSCC Damage Factor.
- Consequences of Failure Level 1
