In conjunction with the 2023 National Science Week Carnival at the Pahang state level held at UMPSA Pekan, the Mathematical Science Center has organized the MathEnergy Cafe activity involving 35 students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Wira, Sekolah Kebangsaan Assunta Convent, Sekolah Rendah Ibnu Abbas and Kuantan Integrated Islamic School. Everyone who cooks, from home cooks to world-renowned chefs, uses math in the kitchen!
On November 8, 2023, the Innovative & Creative Group (KIK), Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM) won first runner-up, receiving a certificate and cash of RM1200.00 in the New Horizon KIK Convention, UMPSA 2023. The KIK convention which was held at the Banquet Hall, Canseleri Tun Abdul Razak, UMPSA was organized by the Centre for Strategic & Quality Management (PSKK), and lasted for two days from 7 November 2023 until 8 November 2023.
A researcher from the Centre for Mathematical Sciences UMPSA, Dr Noratikah Abu has secured a GERAN PENYELIDIKAN KERJASAMA STRATEGIK MTUN 2023 with a total fund of RM40,000. The title of the research project is “Enhancing Rice Import Demand Forecasting in Malaysia: A Hybrid Approach Integrating Box-Jenkins and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) Models ”.
In a culmination of years of dedication, perseverance, and rigorous academic pursuits, a total of 16 postgraduate students from the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) celebrated their academic accomplishments during master’s and PhD graduation ceremonies at the 18th Convocation Ceremony of UMPSA recently. The ceremony was held from 21 to 24 October 2023 at the Sports Complex Hall UMPSA.
