The Mathematics Support Centre (MSC) committee, on behalf of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences has organised a Back to Basics Program for the undergraduate students of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). The program that was conducted on 21st January is an initiative to produce students with excellent mathematical background as well as to help strengthen their Mathematics foundation especially in differentiation and integration topics which are the key for application problems in engineering courses.

Centre for Mathematical Sciences (CSM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang has held a Data Analytics Industrial Talk on 4th January 2022 entitled “Getting Real with Data Mining and Machine Learning in Industry”. The virtual discourse this time has invited Dr. Fairoza Amira binti Hamzah, Data Scientist at STMicroelectronics Sdn Bhd, also as Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer at Ever AI Technologies.

Risk Based Inspection (RBI): API 580 Training for KANEKA’s RBI Team was held on 30 December 2021 through hybrid learning (face to face and online via Microsoft Teams). The trainers are the RBI research team from Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norhayati Binti Rosli, Mr. Khairul Hafiz Bin Khairuldin and Dr. Noryanti Binti Muhammad.

On 29th December 2021, a Basic Global Classroom for an undergraduate class BUM1113 Technical Mathematics was successfully conducted via Microsoft Teams platform. The lecture was delivered by Miss Aisha Yershigeshova, a lecturer from Faculty of Engineering, Suleyman Demirel University, Kazakhstan.
