Monthly Mathematical Colloquium (MMC) 2, 2020

Dr Abdul Rahman talked about iGOT based on his experience supervised three (3) PhD student that successfully graduated on-time. According to Dr Abdul Rahman, there are five issues that need to be tackled by the students in order for them to achieve the iGOT. Among the issues are (i) managing supervisor, (ii) managing time, (iii) a lot to read, (iv) writing, and (v) making progress.

22 April 2020 – Center for Mathematical Sciences has successfully organized Knowledge Sharing Session titled “Introduction to Data Science” presented by Associate Professor Dr. Roslinazairimah Zakaria through online platform ZOOM. Data science is a new buzz word and it is of paramount importance as a tool to analyse COVID-19 pandemic data. Currently, almost all parts of the countries in the world experience the unprecedented outbreak of COVID-19, especially in USA and Europe.

Malaysia Industrial Mathematical Modelling Challenge 2020 (MIMMC2020) Finalist

Malaysia Industrial Mathematical Modelling Challenge 2020 (MIMMC2020) is a group-based competition, which offers the experience and challenge that can enhance the participants’ intellectual capabilities, knowledge, and skills in solving real-life problems through mathematical modelling. Its main objective is to encourage students to understand, analyse and solve the real industrial problem by using mathematical knowledge supervised by their mentor. Three teams comprising of nine undergraduate of Data Analytics students have participated in the competition.

Centre for Mathematical Sciences (CMS) has successfully organised Back to Basic programme on Wednesday, 11 March 2020. This programme was conducted by Mathematics Support Centre committee. This programme is one of the initiative taken by MSC to help students in improving their basic skills in differentiation and integration.
