WBL Briefing Implementation for Cohort 2024 Held at UMPSA Gambang
The Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), successfully organised the Work-Based Learning (WBL) Briefing Implementation for Cohort 2024 on Thursday, 9 July 2026, at ZDK4, Gambang Campus.
The briefing was conducted for students of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours – 2u2i Mode, with a total of 45 students attending the session. The programme aimed to provide students with a clear understanding of the WBL structure, implementation timeline, assessment components, student responsibilities, and preparation needed before entering the industry placement phase.


The session was attended and supported by several academic staff members, namely Dr. Adam Shariff bin Adli Aminuddin (Head of Department), Dr. Sahimel Azwal bin Sulaiman (Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Alumni), Dr. Nur Haizum Abd Rahman, Dr. Nor Azuana binti Ramli and Dr. Noraziah binti Adzhar.
During the briefing, students were introduced to the WBL implementation plan for Cohort 2024, which will involve learning at UMPSA as well as structured industry-based learning. Based on the briefing materials, the WBL component carries 25 credits, equivalent to 20.83% of the programme’s total credit requirement. The implementation will cover Semester 5 at UMPSA from September 2026 to February 2027, followed by industry placement in Semester 6 from February 2027 to July 2027, and Semester 7 from August 2027 to February 2028.
