UMPSA Empowers Students with Information Searching and Mendeley Skills
GAMBANG, 2 April 2026 – Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) successfully organised a knowledge-sharing session titled “Information Searching Strategies and Mendeley Software” under the BSD2712 Research Methodology course, which coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Noryanti Muhammad.
The session, held at ZDK 04 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, featured Ms. Affida Abu Bakar, Senior Librarian, as the invited speaker. The programme aimed to equip students with essential skills in conducting effective academic research and managing references systematically.

Participants were introduced to practical techniques for efficient information searching, including how to identify high-quality academic sources. In addition, the session provided hands-on guidance on using Mendeley software to organise references, citations, and research materials more effectively.
The interactive session encouraged students to bring their laptops, allowing them to follow along and apply the techniques in real-time. This approach enhanced their understanding and ensured practical exposure to tools widely used in academic research.
The initiative reflects UMPSA’s commitment to strengthening students’ research capabilities and promoting digital literacy, particularly in managing scholarly resources efficiently.
Such programmes are expected to benefit undergraduate and postgraduate students in improving the quality of their academic writing and research output.
