Centre for Mathematical Sciences (CMS), UMPSA continues its commitment to academic excellence with the successful organization of a knowledge-sharing session titled “Scientific Writing Using Microsoft Words” under the BSD2712 Research Methodology course, coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Noryanti Muhammad.
Held on Thursday, 9 April 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Block Z, DK04, the session brought together students eager to enhance their scientific writing capabilities using practical tools in Microsoft Word. The workshop emphasized transforming writing from a routine task into an effective medium for academic communication.

The session featured Dr. Siti Zanariah Satari, Senior Lecturer from the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, as the invited speaker. With her extensive experience in academic writing and research, Dr. Siti provided valuable insights into structuring scientific documents, managing references, and utilizing advanced formatting features in Microsoft Word to produce high-quality research outputs.
Participants were encouraged to bring their laptops, enabling a hands-on learning experience. The interactive approach allowed attendees to immediately apply techniques demonstrated during the session, making the learning process more engaging and impactful.
The program was open to all and offered free entry, reflecting CMS’s initiative to promote accessible academic skill development among students. The workshop not only strengthened students’ technical writing skills but also supported their academic journey in producing well-structured and professional research documents.
Such initiatives highlight UMPSA’s ongoing efforts to equip students with essential competencies aligned with current academic and research demands.
