UMPSA and PPD Kuantan Strengthen Algebra Mastery at SMK Cengal Lempong

GAMBANG, 15 July 2026 – The Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), in collaboration with the Kuantan District Education Office (PPD Kuantan), successfully organized the Secondary School Algebra Enhancement Program at SMK Cengal Lempong, Kuantan.

The program was conducted to strengthen students' understanding and mastery of Algebra through engaging learning activities and guided problem solving sessions. It was led by Dr. Noratikah Abu, together with Dr. Amirul Aizad, Dr. Sahimel Azwal, Dr. Nadirah, and the Dean of PSM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Sham Mohamad.

The initiative reflects UMPSA's commitment to supporting mathematics education at the secondary school level while strengthening collaboration with PPD Kuantan and local schools. Through direct engagement between university academics and students, the program aimed to improve algebraic thinking, enhance problem solving skills, and encourage greater confidence in learning Mathematics.

The organizers expressed their appreciation to SMK Cengal Lempong and PPD Kuantan for their support and cooperation in ensuring the successful implementation of the program. It is hoped that similar initiatives will continue to inspire students to develop a stronger interest in Mathematics and pursue excellence in STEM related fields.
