Teaching Plan Workshop for BSD & Mathematics Service Programme
The Center for Mathematical Sciences (PSM) successfully organized a Teaching Plan Workshop on 21 November 2025 at the Hotel Grand Darul Makmur, Kuantan. This strategic initiative brought together 45 staff members, including 40 academic and 5 administrative personnel, to refine the curriculum for the Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours (BSD) and the Service Mathematics program. Driven by the Vice-Chancellor’s Transformation Agenda, the workshop sought to ensure that these programs remain competitive and meet the highest industry and professional standards. This is especially vital for the BSD program, which earned Full Accreditation in 2022, and the Service Mathematics program, which supports nearly 3,000 students across the Gambang and Pekan campuses every semester.

Technically, the workshop focused on the standardization of Course Learning Outcomes (CLO) by aligning them with Bloom’s Taxonomy to maintain consistency across faculties while satisfying strict accreditation requirements. Furthermore, participants conducted a comprehensive audit of teaching references to ensure that all course materials are current and readily accessible through the university library. These enhancements are central to providing a high-quality, modern educational experience that equips students with the necessary skills for their future careers.

The event commenced with an opening address by the Dean of PSM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Sham bin Mohamad, followed by a performance briefing from the Deputy Dean (Academic & International), Dr. Norhafizah binti Md Sarif. The participants then transitioned into two breakout sessions: Dr. Adam Shariff Adli Aminuddin led discussions in Room A regarding benchmarking for the BSD program, while Dr. Nadirah Mohd Nasir led Room B in refining the Service Mathematics courses. Through intensive collaboration and assessment reviews, the workshop successfully updated the teaching plans to reflect the university's commitment to academic excellence.
