Coordination Meeting on Research and Innovation Collaboration between the Malaysian Prison Department and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah

A coordination meeting was held on 8 December 2025 at the Malaysian Prison Department to discuss strategic directions and research collaboration priorities between the Department and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) for the 2026–2027 period.

The meeting focused on aligning data-driven and evidence-based approaches to support the national correctional system, particularly in areas related to offender rehabilitation and the social reintegration of parolees. Discussions covered research alignment, ethical data utilisation, the role of technology and analytics as decision-support mechanisms, and human capital development. Within this collaboration framework, supporting research components such as Biofeedback technology and Data Analytics were discussed as part of broader evidence-based initiatives.

The meeting involved researchers from multiple higher education institutions, namely:
