PSM Strengthens Community Engagement Through Bakul Ramadhan 2026 Initiative
The Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative under Kelab Alpha, successfully implemented the Bakul Ramadhan 2026 programme in support of underprivileged communities during the holy month of Ramadan in March 2026.
The initiative benefited a total of 23 recipients, comprising asnaf students, staff (where applicable), and underprivileged families from Kg Pulai Manis and Kg Gelugur, as well as selected individuals within the campus. The programme aimed to alleviate the financial burden of the recipients by providing essential food supplies for daily use throughout Ramadan.

A total of RM2,528.60 was successfully raised from 34 contributors among PSM staff. The funds were fully utilised to prepare and distribute 23 Ramadan baskets, each containing essential items such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour, canned food, beverages, and other basic necessities.
The programme was executed in several phases, including fundraising, preparation of baskets, and distribution through the “Ziarah Kasih” initiative. The distribution involved both on-campus delivery and off-campus visits via organised convoy to the identified villages, ensuring efficient and systematic delivery to recipients.

This initiative not only provided meaningful assistance to those in need but also fostered a culture of compassion, volunteerism, and social responsibility among PSM members. Furthermore, it reinforced the university’s commitment to community engagement and strengthened its relationship with the surrounding communities.
The organising committee extends its sincere appreciation to all contributors and volunteers for their generous support and dedication. It is hoped that this initiative will continue to expand and create a greater positive impact in the years to come.
