On June 7th, 2024, the Centre for Mathematical Sciences at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah successfully hosted a Global Classroom session for the Data Science Programming II course in collaboration with Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. The lecture, titled "Simulation Using R Language," was presented by Dr. Rado Yendra from the Rado Institute, Indonesia.
Simulation studies are particularly valuable when real-world data is limited. By identifying the most suitable statistical model, simulation methods can be employed to assess the model's effectiveness. Simulated data acts as a representation of real-world scenarios, allowing for empirical analysis under various conditions. Simulation is a powerful tool for evaluating the impact of process changes, new procedures, and capital investments in equipment. Engineers can use simulations to predict the performance of existing or planned systems and compare alternative solutions.
The Global Classroom program provided students with a valuable opportunity to learn from international lecturers, broadening their educational horizons with diverse perspectives.
