On Friday, May 31st, 2024, the Centre for Mathematical Sciences UMPSA, hosted a Data Analytics Industrial Talk. The renowned economist and CFA, Mohammad Bazli Che Rozenan, Head of FX, Rates, and Commodities Research at Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), delivered the talk titled "Unlocking Economic Insight: The Imperative Role of R Language in the Financial Industry."
This talk provided students with a valuable opportunity to observe the practical application of mathematics in the real world, specifically within the financial sector. Mr. Bazli discussed PNB's operations and the crucial role of programming languages like R in modern economics. He explained how various analytical tools are used to develop a comprehensive investment strategy, including economic inflation and labor market models.
Accompanying Mr. Bazli were Mr. Ahmad Aiman Bin Asmayatim and Mrs. Nurul Syifa' Amalina bt Awang @ Hamzah,analysts from PNB's FX, Rates, and Commodities Research department.
