CSR Program: Scratch Programming Workshop with SMK Sungai Isap
The Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), in collaboration with SMK Sungai Isap, successfully organized a Scratch Programming Workshop on 3 October 2025 for 109 Form 1 and Form 2 students.
The workshop was facilitated by a team of lecturers from the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, namely Dr. Noraziah binti Adzhar, Dr. Siti Zanariah binti Satari, Dr. Rahimah binti Jusoh @ Awang, Dr. Noraini binti Ibrahim, Ms. Nur Zahirah binti Md Noor, and Ms. Nurul Hafawati Fadhilah binti Hussian.

It was conducted in parallel sessions, with the first session involving Form 1 students and the second session involving Form 2 students. Throughout the program, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of programming through game development using the Scratch platform. This hands-on activity enabled them to develop interactive games while enhancing creativity, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The students were highly enthusiastic in developing the games, and the workshop concluded with everyone trying out their projects to see who achieved the highest score.
This initiative not only nurtures students’ interest in computer science, creative programming, and game development, but also inspires them to further explore the world of technology in the future. It is in line with UMPSA’s aspiration to cultivate digital literacy among the younger generation and to support the national STEM agenda.
