On Tuesday, January 21st, 2025, the Centre for Mathematical Sciences at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Gambang campus, had the distinct honour of hosting an industry visit from Awantec Systems Sdn. Bhd. The delegation was led by Mr. Ahmad Rezal Ibrahim, Director of Technology, and Mr. Ts. Haimi Edzwan Hashim, Project Manager. Awantec Systems Sdn. Bhd. is a renowned premier partner of Google, celebrated for its contributions to the Google Cloud ecosystem, including being named the 2021 Google Cloud Public Sector Partner of the Year for the Asia-Pacific region.
During the visit, Awantec presented an initiative to offer professional certification programs to UMPSA staff and students, with a particular focus on lecturers from the Centre for Mathematical Sciences and students enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours programme. This initiative aligns seamlessly with the programme's primary objective of ensuring its participants acquire certifications from leading industry providers, enhancing their qualifications in relevant fields. By equipping participants with cutting-edge certifications, the programme aims to enhance their skills, competencies, and marketability in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Norhafizah Md Sarif, Deputy Dean of Academic & Students Affair, and attended by Dr. Adam Shariff Adli Aminuddin, Head of the Data Analytics Program, and Associate Professor Dr. Roslinazairimah Zakaria (Data Analytics lecturer). This collaboration reflects UMPSA's unwavering dedication to building meaningful industry partnerships that enrich academic endeavours.
