UMPSA Empowers Foundation Students Through "Aspirasi Gemilang AST" Program 2025

The Centre for Mathematical Sciences at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) successfully organized "Aspirasi Gemilang AST" on February 11, 2025, at ZDK03. The program aimed to equip AST (Foundation in Science and Technology) students with essential skills for university life while providing valuable insights into their future academic and career pathways.



The event commenced with an opening address by the Head of the Foundation Program, Dr. Farahanim Misni, followed by a comprehensive session led by Associate Prof. Dr. Mohd Sham Mohammad, Dean of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences. During his session, Dr. Mohd Sham highlighted the dual degree courses available at UMPSA and emphasized the importance of academic integrity in the upcoming final examinations. He concluded by extending his best wishes to the students for their exams next week.



The day continued with two engaging sessions by counselors from Pusat Sejahtera UMP and the UMPSA Career Centre. The first session, "Survive In Campus Life," led by Puan Siti Norni Mohd Daud, provided valuable insights on campus survival strategies, emphasizing the crucial role of peer support in academic success. She stressed the importance of seeking assistance when needed. The subsequent session on mental health awareness and self-care strategies, also conducted by Puan Siti Norni, generated active participation from the students throughout the discussions. The program concluded with a career development session by the UMPSA Career Centre, led by Cik Syahidah Adila Ismail and Cik Nurul Arina Raihan Che Azmi, who provided students with fundamental guidance for their future career paths.
