UMPSA Data Analytics Students Secure Eighth Place in DOSM Datathon 2026

A team of four Data Analytics students from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) was selected as one of the Top 10 finalists in DOSM Datathon 2026, achieving an eighth-place finish in the competition.

The team, known as 404 ERROR, was supervised by Dr. Wan Nur Syahidah binti Wan Yusoff. The team members are Aida Kamila Filza binti Abdul Manaf, Chua En Huan, Muhammad Amirul Amier bin Mohd Husni, and Muhammad Danial bin Issham.

They presented their project entitled “The Unsubsidized Squeeze: Tourism, Recovery, and Everyday Prices in Malaysia” during the live pitching session on 19 October 2026.

This achievement highlights the students’ commitment and ability to apply data analytics skills to investigate economic and tourism-related issues in Malaysia. It also demonstrates UMPSA students’ potential to generate meaningful, data-driven insights into contemporary challenges.
