PSM UMPSA Receives Gold Recognition at UMPSA KIK Convention 2025

The Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), extends its highest congratulations to the EUREKA X team for their outstanding achievement in securing the Gold Rating Certificate, Best Montage Award, and Second Place Overall through their innovative project, “Math Honeycomb,” at the UMPSA KIK (Innovative & Creative Group) Convention 2025, held on 21 November 2025.

The Math Honeycomb project is a learning innovation based on hexagonal folding of mathematical formulas, carrying the slogan “See! Fold! Remember!”. It aims to help students understand and retain mathematical formulas in a more systematic and interactive manner. This visual and kinaesthetic approach offers a more meaningful learning experience compared to conventional memorisation-based methods.

Among the significant impacts of the project are improved student performance at the end of the semester compared to mid-semester results prior to the implementation of Math Honeycomb, as well as reduced costs for printed formula materials due to minimal and reusable resources. Furthermore, the innovation demonstrates strong scalability, with Honeycomb designs successfully developed for various mathematical topics, making it flexible and easily adaptable across different courses.

This achievement reflects the strong commitment of the EUREKA X team in fostering high-impact innovation and supporting effective learning practices at UMPSA. The entire community of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences UMPSA congratulates the team on this commendable accomplishment and hopes that the Math Honeycomb innovation will continue to be developed and benefit a wider audience in the future.
