PSM UMPSA and SEJAHTERA Collaborate to "Level Up” Algebraic Skills Among Staff Children during End-of-Year School Holidays 2025
On December 22, 2025, the Mathematics Support Centre and the CSR/CSI unit of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), UMPSA, in collaboration with the Persatuan Kebajikan dan Kesejahteraan Staf (SEJAHTERA), successfully organized the "Level Up Maths!" program. Held during the school holiday season, the initiative aimed to provide students with a productive and meaningful academic break.

The program was specifically designed to support the children of UMPSA staff, focusing on Algebra for students in Forms 1 through 3. This subject was selected as it is a fundamental area where many students often face significant challenges.
A total of 50 students participated—25 from the Gambang campus and 25 from the Pekan campus—with selection conducted on a first-come, first-served basis via Google Form. To ensure the highest quality of instruction, lecturers from PSM UMPSA volunteered their time and expertise to deliver the sessions, focusing on strengthening the students' grasp of mathematical fundamentals.

The feedback from UMPSA staff has been overwhelmingly positive. Many parents expressed their gratitude for the initiative, noting the visible improvement in their children's understanding. One parent highlighted that the program’s approach allowed their child to grasp complex algebraic concepts more easily than in a traditional school setting.
Building on this success, PSM UMPSA looks forward to organizing similar programs in the future. These initiatives are part of a broader commitment to nurturing an interest in Mathematics among the younger generation, ultimately fostering a greater passion for STEM-related subjects.
