PSM Explores Strategic Collaboration and Postgraduate Opportunities with KMKPH
The Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM) at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) recently conducted an official visit to the Pahang Engineering Matriculation College (KMKPH) to strengthen academic ties and promote postgraduate study opportunities.
The primary objective of this scholarly discussion was to highlight advanced study options in Mathematics at UMPSA for candidates interested in pursuing Master of Science (MSc) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. Delegation from the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), UMPSA was represented by:
- Associate Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohd Kasim (Head of Mathematics Department)
- Associate Prof. Dr. Zulkhibri bin Ismail @ Mustofa (Head of Postgraduate Coordinator)
- Dr. Nor Izzati binti Jaini (Head of PSM Promotion)

- Dr. Nadirah binti Mohd Nasir
The two-hour roundtable session was attended by key academic staff from KMKPH’s including:
- Ts. Wan Mohd Azlan bin Wan Mohd Nowalid (Head of Engineering and Mathematics Department)
- Puan Suhana binti Mohd Saed (Head of Mathematics Unit)
- Puan Wan Nur Fathiah binti Wan Jasni

Beyond promoting postgraduate programs, the discussion also delved into several strategic areas:
- Teaching & Learning (T&L): Sharing modern pedagogical approaches for Mathematics courses.
- Community Outreach: Planning for future collaborative Community Service Programs.
- Academic Offerings: Insights into various academic programs available under PSM.
The meeting concluded with positive feedback from both institutions. To further solidify this partnership, a follow-up visit by the KMKPH delegation to the UMPSA campus is expected to take place soon.
