PSM and KMKPH Strengthen Strategic Academic Partnership Through Successful Return Visit

The Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), proudly hosted a return academic visit from the Mathematics Unit of Pahang Engineering Matriculation College (KMKPH), reaffirming a shared commitment to advancing excellence in mathematics education, research collaboration, and academic development.

Held from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the visit marked a meaningful continuation of the strong relationship established during PSM’s earlier engagement at KMKPH on 9 February 2026. The programme highlighted UMPSA’s role as a dynamic academic hub, fostering knowledge exchange while opening new pathways for KMKPH lecturers to further their postgraduate studies.

Inspiring Knowledge Exchange

The visit featured impactful academic sharing sessions designed to enhance teaching innovation and research capability:

  • Teaching Exchange Session on Special Probability Distributions, delivered by Dr. Siti Roslindar Yaziz, Dr. Nor Hafizah Moslim, and Dr. Azlyna Senawi, showcased best practices in delivering advanced mathematical concepts effectively.
  • Postgraduate Opportunities Briefing by Dr. Ku Muhammad Na'im Bin Ku Khalif introduced academic advancement opportunities at UMPSA, encouraging lifelong learning among educators.
  • Research Strategy Sharing Session, led by Dr. Muhammad Azrin Ahmad, equipped participants with practical approaches to identifying high-quality research resources and strengthening scholarly output.

A Milestone Towards Sustainable Collaboration

A key highlight of the programme was the Letter of Intent (LoI) signing ceremony, symbolising a forward-looking partnership aimed at continuous academic collaboration, joint initiatives, and professional development.

The KMKPH delegation, comprising six academic staff members, was led by Ts. Wan Mohd Azlan Bin Wan Mohd Nowalid, Head of the Engineering and Mathematics Department.

The visit was warmly hosted by Dr. Norhafizah Binti Md Sarif, Deputy Dean (Academic and International), together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohd Kasim, Head of the Mathematics Department, representing the Dean of PSM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Sham bin Mohamad.

Through this engagement, PSM and KMKPH continue to strengthen strategic academic networks, nurture talent development, and contribute to the growth of high-quality STEM education in Malaysia. The collaboration reflects UMPSA’s ongoing commitment to empowering educators, advancing research culture, and shaping future generations of mathematical scholars.
