Hits: 82
On January 10, 2025, the Mathematics Support Centre and CSR/CSI Committee of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, UMPSA, organized “Program Intervensi Asas Pembezaan dan Pengamiran Kursus Servis Matematik”. The program was conducted simultaneously across both UMPSA campuses and involved 200 students, who were selected by the lecturers of the respective Mathematics Service courses.
The primary objective of the program was to enhance students' understanding and mastery of the fundamentals of differentiation and integration. This was aimed at enabling students to apply these concepts effectively to solve mathematical problems outlined in their course syllabus. The program received strong support from the Management of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, demonstrating their commitment to improving the performance of Mathematics Service Courses. This initiative was based on data presented by lecturers during the Mid BOE Mathematics review. The intervention program is a regular initiative conducted every semester, either online or face to face.
The program targeted students enrolled in courses such as Differential Equation (BSD1133), Applied Mathematics (BUM2113), Applied Calculus (BUM2123), Ordinary Differential Equations (BUM2133) as well as students from the special bridging program. Knowledge sharing sessions were delivered by six UMPSA mathematics lecturers; Dr. Rahimah binti Jusoh @ Awang, Dr. Najihah binti Mohamed, Dr. Nor Izzati binti Jaini, Dr. Laila Amera binti Aziz, Dr. Nadirah binti Mohd Nasir, and Mr. Muhammad Akram Ramadhan bin Ibrahim.
It is hoped that this intervention program will provide significant benefits to all participating students, helping them to strengthen their understanding and achieve improved results in their mathematics courses during the upcoming final examinations.
