Professional Certification Training: DP-900 Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals by the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, in Collaboration with the Centre for Mathematical Sciences and the Center for Advanced TVET

On 15th November 2025, the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM) and the Center for Advanced TVET (PTVET), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), successfully organised the DP-900 Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals Professional Certification Training, involving 60 students from the Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours (BSD), Cohort 2023.

The training was conducted by expert instructors, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Arfian bin Ismail and Dr. Nor Azuana binti Ramli, from the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (CAIDAS), as part of the UMPSA Professional Certification Programme Initiatives under Vice-Chancellor’s Mandate 2025. The initiative aims to strengthen digital competencies, enhance technical readiness, and improve the employability of students in the data analytics domain.

Throughout the programme, participants were exposed to core modules covering data fundamentals, relational data, non-relational data systems, and introductory data analytics. Hands-on exercises using Microsoft Azure tools were incorporated to ensure students gained practical, industry-relevant experience aligned with current digital and technology trends.

This collaborative effort between PSM, PTVET, and CAIDAS demonstrates UMPSA’s commitment to producing graduates who are future-ready, industry-aligned, and well-equipped to meet the demands of the evolving digital landscape. It is hoped that this training will serve as a valuable stepping stone for BSD students in obtaining their professional certification and advancing their careers in data analytics and data science.
