“Profesor Turun Padang: Latihan Dan Bimbingan Algebra” with Sekolah Menengah Sains Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (SEMSAS), Kuantan

On 20th July 2024, five lecturers from the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), UMPSA, and four Data Analytics students successfully conducted the “Profesor Turun Padang: Latihan Dan Bimbingan Algebra” with Sekolah Menengah Sains Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (SEMSAS), Kuantan. This programme involved 144 Form Two students from SEMSAS.
The initiative of the “Professor Turun Padang” Programme is to raise direct awareness among the community to become more knowledgeable and to share information regarding expertise, knowledge, and experience from both academic and professional perspectives across various fields with the community.
In this programme, we focused specifically on the topic of factorisation, which is critical for the students. Through this focused approach, students can enhance their algebra skills, which will form a solid foundation for learning Mathematics in the future. Additionally, students can develop better problem-solving skills and increase their confidence in the subject of Mathematics. Better mastery in the field of Mathematics will open wider opportunities for students to pursue further studies in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields, thereby improving their employability in the future.
It is hoped that this programme will specifically assist students in the field of algebra.
