Malaysia Industrial Mathematical Modelling Challenge 2020 (MIMMC2020) is a group-based competition, which offers the experience and challenge that can enhance the participants’ intellectual capabilities, knowledge, and skills in solving real-life problems through mathematical modelling. Its main objective is to encourage students to understand, analyse and solve the real industrial problem by using mathematical knowledge supervised by their mentor. This competition is organised by Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (UTM-CIAM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
Centre for Mathematical Sciences (CMS), Universiti Malaysia Pahang is committed to support this competition. Three teams comprising of nine undergraduate of Data Analytics students have participated in the competition. The participating teams must choose one out of the three posted questions on real-world problems and subsequently solve the selected problem using mathematical approaches. They were mentored by three Mathematics lecturers who are Dr Chuan Zun Liang, Dr Norazaliza Mohd Jamil, and Dr Norhafizah Md Sarif. The list of participating teams are as follows:
Group 1: Electricity Supply and Demand Forecasting
Dr Chuan Zun Liang
- Ainur Naseiha Kamarudin
- Siti Nur Syamimi Mat Zain
- Yunalis Amani Abdul Rashid
Group 2: Water Quality Index for River in Iskandar Malaysia
Dr Norazaliza binti Mohd Jamil
- Muhammad Nadzmi Bin Md Azam
- Muhammad Haikal Bin Aminuddin
- Nur Amisha Aiman Ramlan
Group 3: Electricity Supply and Demand Forecasting
Dr Norhafizah binti Md Sarif
