Academic Collaboration Meeting between the Centre for Mathematical Sciences and the Institute of Analytics (IoA), United Kingdom

On March 20th, 2025, the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), held an online academic collaboration meeting with the Institute of Analytics (IoA), United Kingdom, to explore potential partnerships in programme accreditation, professional certification, and student-industry engagement.

The Institute of Analytics (IoA) is the UK’s professional body for analytics and data science professionals. As a not-for-profit organization, IoA promotes greater awareness, understanding, and innovation in analytics and data science across various sectors. It provides members with opportunities to network with industry professionals, access continuous professional development programs, and stay updated on the latest advancements in the field. IoA also offers accreditation for academic programs, ensuring they meet industry standards and effectively prepare students for careers in analytics.

The Center for Mathematical Sciences (PSM) is represented by:
• Dr. Mohd Sham Mohd Roslan, Dean
• Dr. Adam Shariff Adli Aminuddin, Head of Programme (Data Analytics)

Institute of Analytics (IoA) is represented by:
• Olga Sara, Global Commercial Director

The meeting focused on three main areas of collaboration:
1. Programme Accreditation – Ensuring international recognition for Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours, enabling graduates to gain global recognition and a competitive edge in the job market.
2. Professional Certification – Providing students and lecturers with opportunities to obtain IoA membership and access to training and professional certification.
3. Industry & Student Engagement – Facilitating guest lectures, professional training, and networking opportunities within the IoA community, helping students bridge the gap between academia and industry.
