My research focuses on the statistical modeling of environmental data including rainfall data. To date, I focus on modeling rainfall using different types of statistical distribution, namely gamma distribution for modeling rainfall data marginally. The sum of rainfall data are modeled using the uncorrelated and correlated gamma distributions and McKay distribution for temporal and spatial analysis. I also deal with extreme distribution of rainfall models. The Poisson-gamma which is based on Tweedie distribution is also used to model rainfall amount and occurrence simultaneously. Involved in this work are extensive computations. drawing upon developments in computer technology and statistical programming. The R language is used to do the task.
