Another month, another colloquium. Applied & Industrial Mathematics and Statistics (AIMs) Research Cluster, Centre for Mathematical Sciences (CMS) has successfully organized the third colloquium for this year on Wednesday, 15th July 2020. The presenter is Mr. Mirza Rizwan, a PhD student, who supervised by Dr.Noryanti Muhammad. Mr. Mirza has presented his study entitled 'Development of Cardiovascular Risk Prediction Models through Machine Learning Approach'.

On 5th August 2020, Applied and Industrial Mathematics (AIMs) Cluster, Centre for Mathematical Sciences (CMS), Universiti Malaysia Pahang has once again organized a colloquium, the 4th series of this year. The speaker is Miss Siti Hajar bin Mohd Khairuddin, a Master by Research student, supervised by Dr Muhammad Azrin bin Ahmad. Her presentation entitled Modelling of n-th Order Limit Language using Automata Theory in DNA Splicing System.

Dr Abdul Rahman talked about iGOT based on his experience supervised three (3) PhD student that successfully graduated on-time. According to Dr Abdul Rahman, there are five issues that need to be tackled by the students in order for them to achieve the iGOT. Among the issues are (i) managing supervisor, (ii) managing time, (iii) a lot to read, (iv) writing, and (v) making progress.

KNOWLEDGE SHARING SESSION: INTRODUCTION TO DATA SCIENCE

22 April 2020 – Center for Mathematical Sciences has successfully organized Knowledge Sharing Session titled “Introduction to Data Science” presented by Associate Professor Dr. Roslinazairimah Zakaria through online platform ZOOM. Data science is a new buzz word and it is of paramount importance as a tool to analyse COVID-19 pandemic data. Currently, almost all parts of the countries in the world experience the unprecedented outbreak of COVID-19, especially in USA and Europe.
