UMPSA Data Analytics Students Gain Deep Insights into Complex Enterprise Data Landscapes
GAMBANG, 12 June 2026 – To bridge the gap between academic theories and real-world industry applications, the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (Pusat Sains Matematik - PSM) at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) successfully organized an enriching industry talk titled “Insights Into Complex Enterprise Data Landscape.”
Held at the ZDK05 lecture hall at the UMPSA Gambang campus from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the session was specially curated and made compulsory for all data analytics students.
Organized and spearheaded by Dr. Nor Azuana Ramli, the program featured a distinguished industry expert, Mr. Mohd Zaid Waqiyuddin, the Director of Analytics Services at Credence. His vast experience in analytics provided students with invaluable perspectives on how modern corporations manage, architect, and use large-scale data systems.

During the comprehensive two-hour session, Mr. Mohd Zaid shed light on the intricacies of enterprise data environments. He discussed the common hurdles businesses face when dealing with fragmented data, the latest industry trends, and the crucial role that data analysts play in transforming raw data into actionable corporate strategies. By sharing real-world use cases, he gave the students a realistic preview of the professional environment they will soon enter.
Dr. Nor Azuana Ramli noted that organizing this talk was a strategic move to ensure that UMPSA’s data analytics curriculum remains aligned with current industry demands. By bringing in industry leaders like Mr. Mohd Zaid, the university ensures that students are not only theoretically proficient but also practically aware of the challenges and expectations of the digital economy.
The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, during which students asked the speaker about career trajectories, essential technical skills, and advice on navigating the tech industry.
Initiatives like this reflect PSM UMPSA's ongoing commitment to producing highly skilled, industry-ready graduates, closely echoing the university's core philosophy of Teknologi Untuk Masyarakat (Technology for Society).
