UMPSA and Hebei University strengthen strategic collaboration through Dual Degree Programme
Gambang, 24 June 2025 – The Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), welcomed an official delegation from Hebei University (HBU), China in an effort to further enhance international academic collaboration between the two institutions.


The visit took place at the Senate Meeting Room, Chancellery UMPSA, Gambang Campus, and served as a strategic platform to discuss various initiatives, including the establishment of the China-Malaysia Regional Vocational Skills Development Centre, student mobility programmes between UMPSA and HBU, and exchange programmes for academic and administrative staff.


The HBU delegation was led by Professor Liu Bing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hebei University, accompanied by Professor Gao Hongya, Dean of College of Mathematics and Information Science, along with several senior officials. The session was chaired by Professor Datin Ts. Dr. Mimi Sakinah Abdul Munaim, Assistant Vice-Chancellor Academic & International (Internationalisation), UMPSA.


The highlight of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the implementation of a Dual Degree Programme between Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours, UMPSA and Bachelor of Data Science and Big Data Technology, Hebei University, China. The MoA signing ceremony was held in the evening at the Grand Darul Makmur Hotel, Kuantan, and was graced by the presence of UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Yatimah binti Ali.
This collaboration is expected to bring significant impact by expanding student access to globally recognised education, strengthening joint research opportunities, and enriching cultural exchange between Malaysia and China. It also aligns with UMPSA’s vision of becoming a leading global technical university.
