Python and Scratch Workshop: A PSM Collaboration with PPD and 23 Secondary Schools in Kuantan
On Tuesday, 24th June 2025, the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), UMPSA, in collaboration with the Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (PPD), successfully conducted a Python and Scratch workshop with 23 secondary schools in Kuantan.
The programme aimed to promote digital literacy and introduce programming fundamentals to secondary school teachers and students across the Kuantan area. The Python sessions were conducted by Dr. Nor Azuana Ramli, Dr. Noratikah Abu, and Dr. Noraini Ibrahim, while the Scratch sessions were facilitated by Dr. Nur Haizum Abd Rahman, Prof. Madya Dr. Yuhani Yusof, Dr. Muhammad Azrin Ahmad, Dr. Norhafizah Moslim, Dr. Wan Nur Syahidah Wan Yusoff, Miss Nur Zahirah Md Nor and Dr. Norhafizah Md Sarif.
This initiative provided students and teachers with a valuable opportunity to explore basic coding concepts in a fun and engaging environment, fostering early interest in STEM education and preparing them for future demands in the digital economy.
