PSM Lecturer and Students Joining 2025 Chinese Government Scholarship International Summer School Program at Hebei University, China 2025
One lecturer and five students of Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours from Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) are selected to join 2025 Chinese Government Scholarship International Summer School Program at Hebei University, China from 25 July to 10 August 2025.
This summer school program is organized by Hebei University under the China Scholarship Council. It has attracted participants from Malaysia, Egypt and Korea. Dr Tay Chai Jian, a lecturer from PSM, along with five students — Chong Yi Qi, Chew Chun Cheng, Lim Deng Xin, Mok Ker Qin, and Soh Hong Yang — have been selected to attend the program.






The summer school program offered a rich and comprehensive curriculum, covering topics such as digital finance, big data, data analytics, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, international trade, Chinese economy and futures market. Additionally, this program also featured a variety of cultural activities, including paper cutting, Chinese medicine, martial arts, Chinese Kung Fu, calligraphy, and Chinese opera.


Over the program of 17 days, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the current state and future trends in financial technology. They have explored the roles of big data, artificial intelligence and digitalization in international trade. The knowledge and experience gained through this program will be valuable in supporting their future careers in data science, or technology-driven financial services.
