MRSM ATM Bera Educational Visit to UMPSA Gambang Increases Students' Interest in STEM

On 20 February 2025, 108 Form 5 students from MRSM ATM Bera, accompanied by 14 teachers, participated in an educational visit to Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Gambang. The Centre of Industry and Community Linkages (PJIM) organised the visit to encourage student's interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

One of the highlights of the visit was an engaging hands-on session at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), where students were introduced to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics. The session, led by esteemed UMPSA lecturers, including Dr. Nor Azuana binti Ramli, Dr. Nur Haizum binti Abd Rahman, Dr. Wan Nur Syahidah binti Wan Yusoff, and Miss Nur Zahirah binti Md Nor, provided students with insights into AI applications, data analytics, and visualisation techniques.

Students had the opportunity to work with real-world datasets using Microsoft Power BI, exploring how AI and analytics contribute to decision-making across industries. This interactive experience enhanced their understanding of STEM fields and introduced them to potential career paths in data analytics and AI-driven industries.

The session ended with a discussion where students shared what they had learned and showed more interest in STEM subjects. Initiatives like these are crucial in equipping young minds with the knowledge and skills needed for the future.
