Monthly Mathematical Colloquium (MMC) 4, 2023
On 21 July 2023, Pusat Sains Matematik (PSM) successfully organised the fourth Monthly Mathematical Colloquium (MMC) of the year. The event featured knowledge-sharing sessions from two Master of Science (MSc) students, who were under the supervision of Dr. Sahimel Azwal and Dr. Muhammad Khairul Anuar, respectively. The colloquium commenced with Nurul Habibah, an MSc student, presenting her research project titled "The Development of a Predictive Model for Students' Final Grades Using Machine Learning Techniques." Her engaging presentation captivated the audience, providing valuable insights into her work. During the Questions and Answers (Q&A) session, the audience actively participated and provided constructive suggestions and comments to her. These inputs are expected to be beneficial for her as she prepares for the upcoming pre-viva, an important milestone in her academic journey.
After the fruitful knowledge sharing session from the first MSc student, Nurul Habibah, the colloquium continued with another engaging presentation by Wan Muhammad Helmi. He presented his research project entitled “Convective Boundary Layer Flow and Heat Transfer of Williamson Hybrid Ferrofluid”. The audience also actively participated in this session and provided constructive suggestions and comments following his presentation.
