Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) Work Based Learning (WBL) between Pusat Sains Matematik UMP and Cardas Research and Consulting Sdn Bhd (CRDC)

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the 2u2i Data Analytics program has been virtually signed between the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM) UMP and the Cardas Research and Consulting Sdn Bhd (CRDC) on 31 March 2021.

In this historic ceremony, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) of UMP, Prof. Ts. Dr. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli and Dean of PSM, Prof. Dr. Mohd Zuki Salleh have signed the memorandum agreement with the Chief Executive Officer of CRDC, Mr. Jim Chong and the Head of Administration and Human Resources, Mrs. Uma Devi.

Also present at this ceremony was the Deputy Dean of Academic & Student Affairs, PSM, Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Sham Mohamad, Head of Data Analytics Program, Dr. Siti Zanariah Satari and PSM lecturers.

Prof. Ts. Dr. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli in his speech said this MOU is another important milestone in the expansion of UMP's strategic network with credible industries and organisations in line with the spirit of implementing the UMP Strategic Plan 2021-2025.

He added, “The eruption of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) since 2016 involving automation technology has permeated all sectors of the country's services and industries. It demands transformation from all parties in line with the digital era, in order to remain competitive and accelerate the progress of the modern world landscape, as it will cause the direct impact on the future working environment.”

The 2u2i program is a work-based learning (WBL) program that provides industry exposure to students throughout their studies. With the expertise possessed by CRDC for 20 years, as a well-known service research and database management consulting company with 65 full-time executives, over 100 researchers in the field and more than 25,000 panellists in ASEAN countries, the students now have a platform to improve their industrial skills thus increase the capacity and marketability of future graduates of UMP Data Analytics program.
