Knowledge Sharing “All About Dissertation”
The sharing session starts with the definition of dissertation and differences between a dissertation report and a thesis. Even though both terms have different meanings, they have the same purpose, which is research. The flow of research is to review problem statement, perform literature review, determine novelty and objectives, develop hypothesis, methods for solving problems, get results and writing. A dissertation is a compilation of research that proves students are knowledgeable about the information learned throughout their graduate program.
In addition, the speaker explained some of the problems that occurred while writing the dissertation report. It is the role of a supervisor to encourage and monitor the progress of the supervisee to ensure a good track of the research process. Dissertation is one of the courses in the program of the Master of Science (Industrial Mathematics) by mixed-mode. This session benefits students as they are well prepared to start their research and complete the dissertation report.
