Industrial Talk “Exploring The Versatility of Python: Applications Across Different Fields”
On January 8, 2024 an Industrial Talk for Data Science Programming I course was conducted via Microsoft Teams, featuring an industry speaker. The distinguished speaker for this event was Dr. Lau Cher Han, the Chief Executive Officer of LEAD—a prominent tech institute specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, which has positively impacted the careers of thousands of students. Dr. Lau, a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience, holds key positions as the Chief Data Scientist, a renowned keynote speaker, and an esteemed trainer in data science and technology. With an impressive track record of training more than 2000 students, he presented a talk titled "Exploring the Versatility of Python: Applications Across Diverse Fields," expressing keen enthusiasm to share his knowledge and experience in data science using Python software.
During the session, Dr. Lau conducted a practical segment using a Human Resource dataset, showcasing the intricacies of data preparation and analysis to the participants. The Python libraries employed in this session are Pandas, Scikit Learn and Seaborn. Through this simple case study, students were able to analyze the dataset and identify the factors contributing to employee resignations, along with potential strategies to prevent them.
