Global Classroom: BUM2433 Statistics for Management with a lecturer from Bina Nusantara University, Indonesia

12 Jan 2023, UMP Paya Besar. Centre for Mathematical Sciences once again has successfully conducted the Global Classroom (GC) initiatives for ‘Statistics for Management’ subject. The subject coded BUM2433 is offered to Faculty of Industrial Management students whereby 116 students enrolled for the subjects for Semester 1 Session 2022/2023, joined the lecture which was delivered by the invited speaker, Miss Syarifah Diana Permai from Binus University, Indonesia on the topic of linear regressions and correlations.
The lecturer for the subject, Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rashid bin Ab Hamid mentioned that, amongst the objectives of this program are to expose students with the instructional process with the international speaker that could benefit them for elevating the understanding on the topic being discussed, besides giving the opportunity for both parties i.e. the students and lecturer/guest speaker to exchange ideas on leveraging the use of online learning platform for enhancing the quality of teaching and learning. This newly-concluded initiative focused on the Standard Global Classroom which included 30% of student learning time being spent on the learning engagement as well as 10% is allotted for the assessment.
The program which ran for two hours would pave the new way of the university instructional process across the globe. The Dean of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Professor Dr. Mohd Zuki bin Salleh also expressed his utmost gratitude to Miss Syarifah for realising the standard global classroom inititiative.
