Faculty Briefing Session for Data Analytics Students Intake Session 2023/2024

In conjunction with the Student Induction Week 2023 (MINDS 2023), a briefing session with the faculty members was held for the 2023/2024 intake students of Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours on 4 October 2023. The session starts from 8.15 am to 1.30 pm and is organized by the Academic Advisor Committee of PSM.
The attendees of this session include the Dean of Centre of Mathematical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mohd Zuki Salleh, Deputy Dean (Academic & Student Affairs), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Sham Mohamad, Head of Programme (Data Analytics), Dr. Adam Shariff Adli Aminuddin, BSD lecturers, the Centre for Mathematical Sciences administration staff, four senior students, and 58 newly registered students of the Data Analytics Program.
The briefing session starts with introducing the Centre of Mathematical Sciences to the students by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Mohd Zuki Salleh, and a detailed explanation of the Data Analytics program by the Head of Program, Dr. Adam Shariff Adli Aminuddin. Then, the session was continued with a briefing by Dr. Noraziah Adzhar on the information of the academic rules and guidelines at UMPSA, Screening Test, Bridging Program, Post Bridging Test, and advisor-advisee listing. The students also were informed about the student’s club which is Mathelites club by the Club Advisor, Dr. Mohd Khairul Bazli Aziz. Some senior students of the Data Analytics Program were also invited to share their experiences and study journey.
The program continues with Mini Amazing Race with the help of PSM lecturers to ensure students are familiar with the PSM building, classrooms, and computer lab and to promote student-lecturer engagement.
The program ended with the announcement of the winners of the Mini Amazing Race. We hope that the session has benefitted the students and that the content will serve as a guideline for their studies.
