Back to Basic Program

The Mathematics Support Centre (MSC) committee, on behalf of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences has organised a Back to Basics Program for the undergraduate students of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). The program that was conducted on 21st January is an initiative to produce students with excellent mathematical background as well as to help strengthen their Mathematics foundation especially in differentiation and integration topics which are the key for application problems in engineering courses. This program is conducted online on Microsoft Teams and it was divided into 2 slots.

The first slot on differentiation topic is delivered by Dr. Rahimah Jusoh while the second slot by Dr. Rozieana Khairuddin is on integration. Dr Rahimah and Dr Rozieana, who are the lecturers at the Centre of Mathematical Sciences are the best candidates to deliver these topics considering their vast teaching experiences in Mathematical courses related to these two crucial topics. The sharing session was quite a hit among the students and was attended by 155 students who registered for Ordinary Differential Equations dan Applied Calculus this semester. The MSC committee hopes that this program that has been organised periodically every semester since it was introduced in 2016 can benefit the students and help to enhance their understanding for their Mathematics courses at UMP.
