My research is in the fluid dynamics of unsteady water waves, breaking waves and nonlinear free surfaces. My interests lie in violent flows, such as splashes and liquid jets. Examples include (i) a sea wave breaking onto a vertical wall, and (ii) wave impacts on structures with baffles. PhD/Master students with my supervision will work in these areas, e.g. modelling the wave impacts on an inclined seawall; and wave overtopping.
